2000 Peugeot 406 Repair Question

I have a 406 glx petrol auto
The car just cut's out randomly whilst driving along, i have to knock it into neutral and restart the engine i can go either a few miles or a few yard before it happens again any ideas ???

clean teh throttle plate with choke cleaner on both sides and check the fuel pressure. it may cause this. However we have no info on this vehicle so i can't give you any specs

deffo not a throttle problem, sometimes it feels like it only running on 2
