2000 Oldsmobile Alero Repair Question

My door wont stay open like its supposed to--something in the hinge maybe?
When i open my door it wont stay in the open position

There is an arm that slides in and out of the door frame. It is made to hold it in one of three positions. check to make sure it is attached and not broken.

I guess its broken--I live in a very windy area and the wind sometimes slams it open--is it easy to fix?

It takes a little time. You will most likely need to get the part from a salvage yard.
