One of my ignition coils got busted, I replaced it another and test run the vehicle only to discover that the newly placed coil is getting hotter, I quickly removed the socket to prevent further damages please can I possibly know where the problem lies and why the particular coil is giving problem. Other ones are working very well and is there any further damages to expect if driving the vehicle without the fourth coil?

Running on 3 cylinders would result in misfiring and this would damage the catalytic converter if equipped.

Did you check the spark plugs and cylinder compression?
Did you try swapping other coils onto it to see if it is the replacement coil that is faulty as well?
