Manual transmission 5 SPD pops out of 4th gear. All other gears work fine.

It seems that if I'm driving the car while in 4th gear, and my speed is up (around 45-50MPH) and the RPMs are up (2500-3000) it will stay in gear. But if the speed is down along with the RPMs, and I step on the gas pedal, it will pop out of 4th. All other gears work fine, no issues.

Hi,

If it is specific to only 4th gear, I suspect it could be an adjustment issue or a synchronizer issue. By chance, have you checked the fluid in the transmission to make sure it's clean and full? Also, how many miles are on the vehicle, and what is the engine size? The shift linkages are cables, so something could be stretched.

I attached a pic below showing the cables involved. This is from the 4 cylinder model.
