Hi there. Just bought a 2000 Mazda Protege sedan with 130K on the odometer. The car wasn't smogged yet but it was from a friend so I told him I would go ahead a smog it. It passed, but on the way home the CEL came on and the car began to hesitate and lag heavily on the acceleration. The CEL then began flashing when the condition was at it's worst, and went solid again when it calmed down. At idle, it runs smooth and then dips suddenly like it's about to die, but does not. The car was running perfectly before smog. Can anyone help me figure out a diagnosis?
