Engine is a 1.6 liter. I just got my head back from the shop. I am trying to figure out the best way to put my camshafts back in and tighten down. Should I get the crankshaft TDC first, then follow the I and E on the camshaft sprocket? Thanks

Hi,

First, below I attached the directions for disassembly and assembly of the cylinder head. Let me know if that is what you needed.

Also, let me know if you have other questions or need help.

Take are,

Is there a reason you want the sprockets installed prior to installing the camshafts? As far as the belt, take a look at the attachments below. They are the directions for the removal and replacement of the timing belt. Does that help?

Let me know.

Joe

Here is my pic of my sprockets. They don't add up to the pictures I saw or been using.
I want to torque the camshaft bearings and then do the timing belt. Took a look. Tell me what you think.

Hi,

I'm not sure why you feel they don't look right. Presently, they are not in the correct position. You simply need to place them in the position indicated in the directions while the crankshaft is at TDC. Is that what you mean? I can't see the actual marks in the pic, but they should visible on the pulleys.

See pic below for marks.

Okay, how about the position of the cam lobes on cylinder 1 and 3, is that on what side I and E?

Hi,

I'm not 100% sure exactly what you need, but I can tell you that if the crank is at TDC, the cam lobes for both intake and exhaust (cyl 1) will be the furthest away from being open. The timing belt pulleys can only go on one way. If the marks are in the correct location, you should be okay.

Please let me know if that helps. It's difficult when I'm not in front of it to know exactly what you are referring to.

Take care,

Joe
