Front winshield operation

Ok this may seem like a silly question. I have a 2000 rodeo that I bought used. The wipers work when u wash the window. But other than that I cant get them to work. How do u turn them on or do I need a wiper motor? Or could there be another problem?

Check to see if theyare getting a ground. Teh ground for this is on the right side of engine copmpartment behind the battery and the other is in the right kick panel. There is a control unit there that may be ot h aving good connections or it's your switch.
