Hello,

I have a Hyundai Lantra wagon, year model 2000, 2.0L gasoline engine, manual speed box and 180000 kms (about 112500 miles)already done.

I have the car since a year and a half and NEVER had any problem. About 2 month ago I had to crank several times before the car could finally start in the mornings. At the begining it happened very rarely but since 20 days ago it happens almost everyday (once the car starts and gets temperature it can run fine all the day, it starts perfectly). Recently the car could not start anymore. No "check engine" light on. Mechanic's error reader can't reach the car computer for erros. The mechanic found that there is no current getting the spark plugs. He changed the crankshaft position sensor but the problem remains. Now he says that he will tray another ECU. Are there any other tests before we have to look for another ECU.

It would be great if I get any replay soon since I really need the car with the winter comming.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, many thanks for answer so quick !

My problem is that I don't have any spark at all. That's why the mechanic decided to replace the crank sensor, though with no good results, after inspecting the electrical system(I don't think he has checked the cam sensor). The computer isn't accesible, that's why he intends to test with another ECU. The timming belt got changed months ago and so was the water pump. Do you believe that the car symptoms above explained could correspond to a defective Cam Sensor?

Thanks a lot
