2000 Honda Civic Hi Ek B16a6 Engine Whilst Driving Home Work Speed 50kph

hi, i have a 2000 honda ek civic with the B16A6 engine, whilst driving home from work at a speed of 50kph, the check engine light started to flash , pulled over to check , found that when i touched accelerator pedal the light flashes.i then drove home at 50kph and when i got home i left car running to cooldown, but in about 3 minutes ,the car just died. i then tried starting it again , but no luck at all. it will turn ,turn ,turn ,but wont start,lights ,radio,windows,aircon,sunroof evrything was working. eventually the battery gave in .i then tried to jump the car,and then it would turn strong ,but wont start.
all help would be highly appreciated.
