Was told today I have a cracked head
any idea how much to fix?
and is it a big job and;how long can I drive it like it before I do more damage?
just brought the car I think the seller knew about the problem, I have put it in for service, all new spark plugs
needed new cat convertor

Hi:
I'm not sure where you are located, but yes this is a big job. If the head is cracked and needs replaced, you are going to have nearly 1000.00 in just parts. Not sure what the labor rate would be where you are located.

I am on the Central Coast near wyong I was told could be better off getting second hand motor but if I do that could buy more trouble, only brought the car 5 weeks ago so now I know why he got rid of it. Have just spent few hundred dollars getting service all new spark plugs, cat convertor.

I understand your concern with a used engine replacement. However, it may be more cost effective. See if you can find a used engine with low mileage.
