2000 Gmc Safari Getting Knocking Sound Drive Most Pronounced Slow Down Foot

I am getting a knocking sound when I drive, most pronounced when I slow down, foot off the gas. My guess was the cv. The boots look ok...and the it sounds and feels like it is under my feet. This vehicle is AWD.
