In 4 wheel drive ,no heavy strain, transmission fluid leaked out, let sit for 1 hour, filled and is not leaking now ?
We were out 4 wheeling going up hill, smelled something looked behind to see a trail of trans fluid leaking out got to top of hill and made a call for help. Let it sit for 1 hour,refilled, and is not leaking now, is this a problem ? If so what is it ?

You need to find out where the leak is coming from. How much transmission fluid was refilled? If the fluid level was higher than recommended, hill climbing can heat up the fluids and if excessive overheating occurred, cause it to flow out of the overflow tube. If that is the case, there is nothing to worry about.
