Ford Escort Brakes Problem
My front brakes keep locking up and the brake. Pedal is hard to move

That suggests the brake fluid is getting trapped someplace and can't release back into the reservoir. The next time this happens, loosen the steel lines at the master cylinder to see if the brakes release. If they do not, open the bleeder screws on the front calipers and try it there.
