Using the wrong gasoline

What happens if you put E85 gasoline into a vehicle not meant to take it. What needs to be done to fix this issue? The check engine light came on shortly after filling up the tank.

E85 can be run in non flex fuel but will cause corrison and other problems in extended use. Could drain out E85 and fill with E10 no harm should be done. As for light not sure so have code read see what it indicates
