I was driving on the interstate highway. I noticed that fueling when I pressed on the gas was not doing very well. There was some clicking as I pressed on the gas pedal and the clicking stopped when I released the pedal. At one point I try to accelerate and suddenly there is a loud pop and the engine shuts down and a spray of coolant escapes out of the passenger side of the hood. After rolling to a stop, the engine refused to turn over and the coolant reservoir is empty.

What happened??

hard to say without seeing it but from your description, it has overheated and shut off. the clicking has me concerned.

you will need to have it evaluated at a shop to find the failure.

hopefully, it does not have internal engine damage

I was able to tow it to a parking lot near me and I left it there over-night, but the engine is still not turning over (battery is fine). Is this a sign of a seized motor with internal engine damage?
