PCM P0171 & P0174 HISTORY CODES

2000 Cadillac Seville • 135,000 miles

I know these code are telling my car is running lean, but every I check my OBD, they come up "History". If I clear the codes, they light up my "check engine light". I read different threads about checking vacuum hoses, to be honest guys, there's so many different hoses under the hood, I don't know what's what. I read also, not to worry about it if it reads "history". Well, it keeps turning my light on and it's annoying. Any suggestions?

The cost of the repair is going to be based on what the repair entails. It all depends if it is a intake gasket leaking a hose leaking etc. Without knowing the cause cant estimate a repair cost.

Just a follow up guys, I took the car to Tires plus and they chkd it and did a smoke test. They took care my old and cracked vac hoses. But they say it has a pinhole leak in the thottle body gasket. The car shakes horribly at idle. They said it would cost $460 p&L. Does that sound right? Just to change a gasket!

The labor would be about 2hrs times what ever there shop labor rate is. Parts would be about 60 depending on how much there marking them up. Also what ever they charge for hazzardous wastes fees etc.

Had the throttle kit installed. Still have problems. They (tires Plus) even installed new fuel injector rings ($700 total spent). They thinks it's internal because it keeps burning out the spark plug in cylinder #5. I should of just taken it to the Cadillac dealer. Any other suggestions before I shoot it. LOL!

I sorry guys, one more small question. Is the resonator and air intake supposed to b clamped together? I think the two are slightly separating because of the rough roads here in PA and because I cant tighten it down. Tonight i'll add washers to the holding screws, hopefully it'll solve the running out of thread problem.
