What would make a 2000 Cadillac Deville overheat and misfire? NO coolant in the oil and I just replaced the water pump and thermostat

check the radiator, turn engien off and disconnect the fans or pull the fan relay and put your hand on the fins while it's hot, if you feel cold spots then you need a radiator, also look for loose fins or corrosion. If you have mixed the anti freeze stronger than 50/50 there is a chance of it clogging the cylinder liners. alos check your fuel pressure if it's low it will cause a misfire.

a 2001 cadillac deville would it be ok to put bars leaks head gasket repair in threw the coolant resivor

you can try it but normally those don't work all the time. Better to have it pressure checked to make sure though.
