car dying and knocking sound coming from passenger side

I replaced the mass air flow sensor here a while back cause the car would die especially if i was at a stop sign or bringing the car to a complete stop at home or else where.What else can i look into that might help?
Also the other day i drove the car and noticed a knocking sound coming from the passenger side. it comes and goes and usually hear it most when coming to a stop . any help is appreciated.

is the check engine light on?? if it is, we need the code. if it is not, then it is a basic engine failure. it could be a vacuum leak or one of many other items.

knocking?? from the engine or the suspension??

and there is no "check engine" light on this time like prior to replacing the M A F

the upper strut mounts are common for this noise.

what about the light??

check the throttle body plate for carbon build up
