All of a sudden my car has started making a noise when i accelarate in 2nd 3rd and 5th Gear. it doesnt make the noise in 1st or 4th. it is like a wheezing sound, or a drill going into a hole kind of noise which gets louder as i accelarate. when i take my foot off the gas the noise reduces until it stops.

Any idea what this is so i can fix it?

Noise diagnosis needs ears... I have them, but don't hear the noise.

You'll need to take it to a shop so someone can HEAR the noise. At our shop, we provide free test drives to help in
initial diagnosis.

If it is a transmission gear whine, the transmission will need to be removed / disassembled / replaced.

No way of knowing what the problem is without hearing and feeling what is going on.

Engine size? Gas or Diesel?
