I have to crank the car 6 or 7times for it to fire up between all those cranks engine shakes bad. After I get the car started I have to keep the engine around 3000 rpms for a while to make sure it keeps running then it wont stall and is driveable. I can shut the car off then and it fires right up no problem. I just put this engine in with 83k mi. Im fairly good backyard mechanic and im stumped please help

Sounds like a bad coolant temp sensor really common for those to go bad.I would also inspect the inside of the connector if the terminals are blue or green instead of silver you will need to replace the connector also. Let me know what you find. The sensor is only like 11. Also any codes?

You need to check the inside of the connector for being corroded also.I would just replace the sensor there cheap and fail often.I have a 1999 saturn SL2 bought in 2006 and iam on my fourth cts. Keep me posted on how things go though.

That would be really strange for that year and model to be leaking coolant from the intake. Are you sure its not the hose running from the intake to the heater core? The obd2 connector is to the left of the steering column at the edge of the impact panel you cant miss it. So is you check engine light on?

Let me know what the exact code numbers you get when you have it scanned. You could add some coolant dye and use a dye light to pin point the leak.

Just go have them clear the codes and see which ones come back. The P0341 I would check the spark plugs for black carbon in the spark plug boot ends where they go on the spark plugs. Also inspect the outside of the spark plugs for black carbon or arched plugs. Meaning channels or lines burned into the outside of the plugs from spark traveling down the sides of the plug.

It could just be a old code that set before you changed all that. Clear the codes and see which ones come back if any.
