What could be done to rectify the car from smoking

The engine smokes

A smoking engine is a sign of worn piston rings and faulty valve stem seals, the only way to do this is to have the engine pulled down and repaired correctly, stop smoke treatments do more damage than good, i am presuming that this car is also using oil and that the smoke is bluish in colour?
