My car keeps overheating!! I've tried everything I kno... Check details.
Hi my 1999 Pontiac grand am se is overheating.
It was leaking from the water pump. I changed the pump.
An there is no sign of any leak in the system. I thought maybe there was an air lock in the coolant system... But I've filled the system consistently cracking the release valve till the coolant leaked out. All the coolant just keeps puking out the overflow and the car stills blows cold air and overheats. Is there something else I should be looking at?? Like the thermostat maybe? I've smelt the exhaust and the count system isn't leaking into it. Help! I was supposed to leave Calgary 4 days ago... :(
Thanks
Shay

start with a thermostat. i would also get a leak down test to verify head gasket. the radiator needs to checked for proper flow.
