Plymouth Voyager Crankshaft Problem

do timing cover & belt have to be removed to replace front crankshaft seal? having a tough time getting to it.

Sure would be nice to know which engine you're working on but regardless if it has a belt or chain, the sprocket has to come off the crankshaft snout to get to the seal.
