1999 Peugeot 206 Repair Question

I have just brought a second hand 206 . Ive come across a light flashing stop. Is this serious? Help!!!
Stop sign on dash board, everything full eg brake fluid etc

Check the condition of the brake pads. Bleed the brakes, there may be air in the lines. Is this also the indicator light for when the parking brake is actuated? If so, check to see if that switch is shorted.
