Nearside and offside front lower suspension ball joint dust covers excessivly damaged so that they no longer prevent the ingress of dirt. Question is there a cheep remedy to this problem just wanted to know if its exeptable and leagal to mot standards to use repair rubber dust covers with rubber solution or sealants

The cheapest way is to have the dust seals replaced and the joint lubricated. Sealants would not work as the seals are subjected to movement and any sealant applied to would crack in due time.
Check out the price of new just to see if the the time taken to replace the dust covers justifies not fitting new.
