Fuel problems eliminated. It seems to be the security system. The security light stays on when the key is on. It is supposed to be out. Can I check or fix something with limited tools before having to tow 60 miles to Nissan.

Anti-theft system is controlled by Body Control Module (BCM), with input from each Local Control Unit (LCU). Five LCUs are used: one located in trunk compartment and one in each door. LCUs receive input from door switches, door key cylinders, hood switch and trunk lid key cylinder. See Fig. 1 and Fig. 2.
To set anti-theft system in armed mode, remove ignition key and close all doors, engine hood and trunk lid. Lock doors using key or multi-remote controller. The SECURITY indicator light will illuminate for 30 seconds and then turn off, pause briefly, then flash in 2.4-second intervals. This indicates system is in armed mode.
To cancel armed mode, unlock doors or trunk lid using key or multi-remote controller. Note that if trunk lid is opened, armed mode is only temporarily canceled. System will reset to armed mode after trunk lid is closed.
Alarm will trigger if any of the following conditions occur while system is in armed mode.
Engine hood or trunk lid is opened using hood or trunk lid release.
Door(s) is unlocked without key or multi-remote controller.
If alarm is triggered, horn will sound, headlights will flash and starter circuit will be disabled. To deactivate alarm, unlock any door or trunk lid using key or multi-remote controller.
