1999 Mercury Tracer • 105,110 miles
I just recently descover this sulpher smell when i drive on the highway im ik it could be.A bad cat but how do. Check the cat
Often when the converter is plugging, it will glow red hot with the engine running. Other than that, you need to check back pressure at the O2 sensor port.
Do u happen to know what he correct pressure is or should be
There is no specific pressure. You are checking to see if pressure is able to exit the exhaust. Therefore, pressure is low if the converter isn't plugged.
Ooooh i see thank you for the help the smell was makeing my daughter throw up everytime i got on the highway ill do. Pressure test tomorrow but lets say The pressure is low its not. cloged what els could it be
If you are getting a sulfur smell, chances are it is the converter.
