Hello, I just changed my fuel pump because I was having a cold start issue. When I insert the new pump and try to start, engine turns over but will not start. Fuel rail receives fuel, spark plugs are getting power but the injectors are not receiving power. What can cause this? It is by my mechanic and he has no idea whats causing that.

Check crank and cam sensor. If they show good, check the pcm for possible problems. NOTE: I can't remember on the 1999, but many of these vehicles rely on a cam sensor to time the fuel injection. Have him start by checking that.

Hey, my mechanic got the car started today by pouring fuel into the vacuum line that the pcv valve is attached to. When he did that it started but when he revs it up the engine back fires and sounds like its about to stall. Does this narrows down the problem?

If it runs by putting fuel into the engine, then the fuel system isn't working properly. Has fuel pump pressure been checked? Is there power to the injectors?

Thank you very much for your help. I got the car started. I had the same long crank before start this morning so I hooked up a machine on it and got these codes

p0102 IAT _circuit low input
p0113 MAF/VAF Circuit high input.

Any suggestions?
