Trouble code P1760 comes up - P1760 (3) Shift Solenoid Valve SLT Fault - I do not know where this Solenoid is located or if I'm interrputing the error code correctly - My Lexus was manufactured late Aug 99 so people tell me it's a 2000 motor -
VIN JT8BF28GXX2022075 - any help you can give me will be appreciated.
Thanks, Joel Haas

If the solenoid is bad, it is in the valve body on the front of the trans.

You need to check the harness for power and ground. Then check the resistance of the solenoid to confirm failure. Lastly, you need to see if it is commanded on and off by the pcm.

Not as easy as it sounds. Codes never identify bad parts, just failed systems

Please clarify one thing.

Is the solenoid INSIDE the valve body or OUTSIDE
the valve body - that will determine if I have to take the
transmission out. Thanks.

No, the trans stays in. You remove the cover and it is there. Valve body does not have to be removed
