Jeep Grand Cherokee Noise Problem
Have an engine knocking noise that almost sounds like a wrist pin or rod knock but when you listen to it mechanics ear it is not knocking in the bottom around oil pan. found a ncolapsed lifter on no.2 cyl and relaced it and the noise changed but was still there

try shoritng out spark plug wires by removing one at a time while you hear knocking noise, that wold locate the cylinder. if it quits then it is eitehr a rod bearing or a piston problem.
