Boot lights
I have a jaguar xj sport my problem is the boot lights sometimes come on is there an on/off button that controls the power going to them and where would it be located

This is a notorious problem with the XJ8. The cable running from body to the hinge breaks inside the sheath. You'll have to remove the sheath, separate the wires, and figure out which one is broken using a meter or a test light. Sometimes, just moving them around gets the lights to work, but that usually doesn't last...
