1999 Hyundai Sonata Engine Cold Car Jerks Accelerate Sometimes Stalls Take Foot

When the engine is cold the car jerks when I accelerate, and sometimes stalls when I take my foot off of the gas. If i wait for the engine to warm up it works perfectly fine. I'm assuming its a transmission problem but I'm hoping its something else!
