The problem is my battery is not keeping a charge. I first replaced the alternater. That one proved to be defective. It kept surging. I replaced with another. Still battery would be keep charged. Since that battery had gone completely dead more than a few times I decided to replace. So with a new battery and on my second alternater still the battery is not being charged. Am I looking in the wrong place? Or could the second alternater be bad also? Fuses are all good. Thanks for the help

Not likely.

You need to have someone do a voltage test on all the points with the alternator. There is something missing not allowing the alternator to charge.

If it is a reconditioned unit, I have a personal expperience of having 3 bad alternators in a row.
