why does all of your dashboard lights come on and stay on while driving

every dashboard light is on and then twice the radio turned off and the car wouldnt shift to second gear. but when i pushed the gas and rev it, it caught gear and the lights on the dashed turned off and then it drove fine.

That is a good question. If warning lights are coming on, start by checking simple things first. Make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight, and make sure the alternator belt is tight.

I woud suspect a bad ignition switch as the radio did cut off. There was a safety recall on the item and even those replaced can go bad as well.
