220k miles; On igition the vehicle will make a cranking sound and not turn on. And, after a few attempts it will turn on. Then the bolt to the gear reduction starter broke. Once this was fixed and replaced the car would continue with the cranking sound. I took it to 2 mechanics which said it was a damaged flywheel. This was replaced with a new gear reduction starter. The vehicle started excellent after about 4 times. Until it was parked for about an hour and restarted; it did not start without cranking loudly and after a few attempts. Have any ideas what the issue could be? It has new flywheel and starter...

It sounds like the starter isn't engaging with the flywheel. Was the original flywheel damaged? As far a the new starter, I need you to check something. Have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check voltage to the smaller wire on the starter. It should have 12 volts. If it is lower, there is a chance the solenoid isn't fully engaging.

Let me know what you find.
