The car turns over but will not start, have fuel and fire but won't even try unless the accelerator is floored and then it just coughs and sputters, has been doing this for a while but used to start when the accelerator was floored and now will not

Check fuel pump pressure to make sure the regulator is allowing too much fuel to build in the rail. Also, check to see if the plugs are wet from fuel. NOTE: The spark should be a hot blue snapping spark. If it is orange or white, it won't run or will run poorly. If everything checks out, check the catalytic converter to make sure it isn't plugged. If the check engine light was on, scan the computer to see if there is an issue with a sensor.
