1999 Ford Focus Repair Question

Hi, my car has got itself stuck in 2nd gear, the gearstick moves freely and won't engage any other gear. Any idea what this could be?
Car stuck in second, cannot get it out of second at all.

could be a broken shifter cable or a issue inside the trans.
look for something under the hood that may be dislodged or broken

There is a bushing on the top of the transmission that commonly breaks on this car, it is at the end of the shift cable

the cable busing is a good start buti still think you should be able to get it out of gear.
