1999 Ford F 150 Would Cause Fuel Pump Relay Intermittelly Engage Strating Truck

What would cause the fuel pump relay to intermittelly engage when strating the truck, sometimes engages and sometimes does not. Do you think its the computer board not sending power to the relay?
