How to set differential on 1999 ford f150 after replacing rear brakes and shocks?

Replaced rear brakes and shocks on a 1999 ford f150 and while doing so spider gears fell had to reinstall gears and differential. Put all back together and when tried makes grind noise. differential not set right. How do I fix this without taking everything apart again? Please help as soon as possible

take it apart again. did you put the shims back behind the gears??
