I am thinking of replacing my bulbs with ones that have higher wattage which is 100w/100w, is this a good idea or will I damage the wiring because of the higher watts.

You may over heat the system, and damage lenses if they are not glass lenses do not fit these globes, anyway the 100W low beams are way to bright for on coming cars, why not just fit driving light instead and have them wired correctly?
