Does putting my van in neutral every time I am at a red light damage anything? I heard it will damage my torque converter, whatever that is.Thanks

Placing it in neutral will not hurt anything. However, why must you do that? Does the engine want to stall? If that is the case, check for vacuum leaks and check the IAC to make sure it is working.

What's wrong with your vehicle and be specific of the problem

It does not want to stall it just seems to me that the van "relaxes" when it is in netural as opposed to the transmission fighting the brakes.

Then the idle is too high?

My van runs great. There is nothing wrong with it. I just like to put it in netural at lights to "relax" it. Every vehicle when stopped and in gear wants to go and the brakes keep it stopped. Seems to be a conflict to me.
Thanks

It shouldn't do that. If it does, it should be minimal.
