'99 dodge ram 1500 van 3.6L engine
i was driving the other day and the power steering went out
i can drive but turning is worse than before power steering i need alot of strength
it still runs ok but not turning
i opened the hood and noticed a thin belt was broken
the fan belt is slightly loose[was when i bought it]
it is below and behind the fan belt
PLEASE HELP
HOW MUCH, TIME AND WHAT BROKE
where can i go to get fixed
i live in dearborn heights michigan

It sounds like the power steering belt broke. Any mechanic will be able to repair that for you. Figure the part is about 15 dollars and they'll charge about .5 hour to install it.

the price if a serpentine belt
and how much to change fan belt im scared htat will break to as the van is so old iv had 3 months and is expensive to fix because of age

If the serp belt broke, you would have more than the PS issues. As far as the cost of a serp belt, aprox 75.00 installed.

I'm sorry, but I am in Pittsburgh. This is something you could do yourself if you have a little mechanical ability. If you don't feel comfortable, any small shop can do it. By the way, they are over charging you.
