yes the car runs just fine. i took it in for a smog test and it passed everything except that one problem. they said the light wasnt coming on at all.. i have a 1999 dodge durango

i have tried replacing the bulb and checking the fuse and the fuse was good but as far as the getting th elight to come on nothing happens... the light comes on for about half a second but goes off before anybody can see it.. how do i go about repairing this or connecting the light to my engine in case its not hooked up?.
