Start by measuring the battery voltage while the engine is running. You must find between 13.75 and 14.75 volts. If it is low, measure the voltage on the two small nuts / terminals or the two small wires plugged into the back of the alternator. There will only be voltage there when the engine is running. One must have full battery voltage and the other one must have less but not 0 volts. That second voltage will tell us where to go next.
