The blinkers are not working on my 99 Dodge dakota

We have checked the fuses and the bulbs are fine

Suspect the flasher unit. It's no longer the common sense, reliable three-dollar flasher. It's now a very expensive electronic module. Sorry I can't remember exactly where it's located but if the hazard flashers still work, you can follow the clicking noise to the unit. On vehicles where that flasher is plugged in and sitting sideways, its weight often pulls it partially out of the socket. Simply reseating it will get it working again.
