SYMPTOM:
P0720-OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR ERROR

WHEN MONITORED:
Continuously when the transmission is in gear.

SET CONDITION:
Upon detection of a speed sensor error the code sets as a one trip fault and will take 5 mins of substituted operation before the transmission is in LIMP-IN. The code sets if there is an extensive change in input rpm in any gear.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
CHECKING SYMPTOMS AND POSSIBLE CAUSES
LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE CAUSING SYMPTOM
INTERMITTENT CODE P0720

SYMPTOM:
ADDITIONAL OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR (P0720)

Test Note: The symptoms listed above will be diagnosed using the same tests. The title for the tests will be ADDITIONAL INPUT SPEED SENSOR (P0715). See: P0715

POSSIBLE CAUSES
INPUT SPEED SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
IGNITION WIRING DAMAGED
BOTH INPUT AND OUTPUT SPEEDS=O IN OD WITH BRAKES ON
INPUT SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED GND WITH ISS DISCONNECTED

TCM OUTPUT SPEED SENSE FAULTY
TCM SPEED SENSOR GND SHORTED TO BATTERY

SYMPTOM:
P0733-GEAR RATIO ERROR IN 3RD

WHEN MONITORED:
The transmission gear/speed ratio is monitored continuously while the transmission is in gear.

SET CONDITION:
Code P0733 is set if the gear/speed ratio of the input RPM to the output RPM does not match the given gear ratio.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
CHECKING SYMPTOMS AND POSSIBLE CAUSES
LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE CAUSING SYMPTOM
INTERMITTENT CODE P0733

Tests 111 Through 114

Tests 115 Through 119

SYMPTOM:
ADDITIONAL GEAR RATIO ERROR IN 3RD (P0733)

POSSIBLE CAUSES
BOTH UD AND OD PRESSURES 5 PSI IN 4TH GEAR

SYMPTOM:
P0734-GEAR RATIO ERROR IN 4TH

WHEN MONITORED:
The transmission gear/speed ratio is monitored continuously while the transmission is in gear.

SET CONDITION:
Code P0734 is set if the ratio of the input RPM to the output RPM does not match the given gear ratio.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
