I just recently purchased the car and it has started running rough. It starts fine but it's noisy. Also, it tries to stall out while driving. I had it hooked up to an ODB and the readout said the car has a bad egr valve. It's not a cheap fix and I was just wondering if there's any other possibilities before I change the part?

There might be some vacuum leaks from deteriorated hoes, so check those.
But, since the code came back and EGRs fail at about the mileage you hand and are neccassary as part of emissions and proper eninge function, your kinda stuck.
Look around on-line and you can find good deals. There is a site called, thefind. Com that is very good at locating parts from reputable companies. But buyer beware, some companies that are selling the part for a to good to be true price or from a company that you never heard of, just avoid. After you find the part, go to the web site, see how much work and proffessionalism went into it and try to find reviews on it. The EGR is not hard to replace on most cars. We will be here to help you put it in.
