What could be making my have a misfire

Sorry I did not specify I thought the worn wires would include the plug for the coil, the one that powers it not the lead to operate the disributer

So if you move the coil feed wires around it changes the way it runs?

Are the wires your moving close to the coils connector?

Yes I unplug it and plug it in couple times

You said the coil isnt mounted?If thats true bolt the coil down tight and see how it runs?If you can still play with the plug and change the way it runs replace the connector to the coil.

I recently mounted it so i will try that do I just splice a new plug on or run a whole new wire

Iam sure you can get the connector with leads i would replace the connector with leads thats your best bet Look at http://www.rockauto.com you can get the part number and probably find that part number on amazon cheaper.
