Hello my name is amanda and i have a 1999 chevy malibu and its way over due for a oil change. and i have all the oil i need and the filter.. is there any way you can walk me through on how to change the oil step by step? Im in serious need of help.. i don't know how. :) I have never changed oil in car before so im going into this not knowing much of what to do. I have looked for many "how to" videos and well lets just say its not looking good for me... havent found any videos to show me step by step on how to change my oil...please help.

I suggest letting a shop do it as it is a messy job if you never did it. You also have to dispose of the old oil and filter as well. you need to get under it somehow with either ramps or a jack and stands.

Look for oil change specials at some of the major retailers and let them do it.

I was going to do that but i already bought the stuff to do it so now im broke.. and i half to do it.. do you knw of any how to video links? I need a video or step by step instructions..

I know pepboys will change your oil and filter for 15 with your own stuff. they will dispose of the oil and filter as well.

I dont have a video and you are not familiar with the underneath of a car, so it would be nuts to try to tell you.

I will see if any of my other guys can get you a video but it will be generic, not specific to your car.

Thank you so much i greatly appericte it.. and i dont have anybody else they pretty much said ********* to me.. so now this is the situation im in now. Im familer with under my hood and all that stuff. Just kinda need to know where its all located so im not un doing the wrong thing.. if ya know what i mean?. Im sure i can do it. Just wanted a little advice before i take the plunge and go for it
