Engine Will Not Start and on the off chance it does shuts off when shifting gears and/or hitting gas pedal.

After first heavy rain of the season our Van has died on us. Moving on.
Checked Spark Plugs, (have spark)
Replaced Crank Sensor
Replaced Distributor
Replaced MAF

Sprayed Ether into engine, tried to start, NOTHING!
I am smart but never learned about vehicles, my step dad is doing all the work but is at a loss. I have read around 100 Q and A on here and this is what I am reading

Spark + Pressure + Fuel + Air = Fire

Makes sense, so Fuel Pump (60psi) required, no way to test pressure atm but where you test shoots out gas.
Fuel Injector Issues?

We are currently confused as to how you can spray Ether into an engine via the air flow, turn the key and nothing happens.

Symptoms leading up: I was shopping, on the way to the store it didn't start first 10 tries or so, finally came on, switched to drive hit gas barely had any acceleration BARELY. About 7 blocks later it died at the light. 20 start attempts later I LIMPED into the store, went shopping, 15 minutes later back in van. 15 attempts to start, switch gear dies. 25 attempts to start, switch gear dies. Eventually I turtle d 70 feet off 500 attempts and 7 starts and then it dies. First thought was *its not getting any gas*.

We are trying to fix this ourselves as any other option will get us foreclosed on or taking showers at the YMCA. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

There is a valve to test the fuel pressure, just because fuel comes out doesn't mean that its the recommend psi. You need to use a fuel pressure tester, it screws on to that valve and if it reads under 60 psi then you should check if the online filter is plugged causing any restriction. Also when you turn the key on you should hear the pump engage for a few seconds if not you Will have to check for power to the pump

The Fuel Pump does make noise when we turn the key. However our gas gauge hasn't worked for 2 years. Also another note we have been running around on E for a while since gas prices got crazy. I heard that can force crap through your fuel systems.

The fuel pump can actually keep Ether (starter fluid) from engaging the engine when we turn it?

I'll update this once we get to work on it again.

Turn it? The pressure can seem good at an idle but under a load it can cause the pressure to drop not allowing the correct pressure.
